EIES welcomes Marek Nieduzak as Poland Director
11 September 2025
Warsaw, 11 September 2025 – The European Initiative for Energy Security (EIES) is pleased to announce the appointment of Marek Niedużak as Poland Director. In this newly created role, Niedużak will lead EIES’ operations in Poland to promote a secure and resilient energy future for Europe. Niedużak joins EIES with extensive experience and expertise in the Polish administration, finance, and energy sphere.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marek Niedużak to the team,” said Albéric Mongrenier, Executive Director of EIES. “His exceptional expertise and proven leadership will prove invaluable as we work to strengthen both Polish and broader European energy security and competitiveness. Together, we aim to expand our presence in Poland, a nation critical to building a resilient and secure future for Europe. Poland's determined pursuit of energy independence from Russia exemplifies the strategic approach Europe must adopt to reduce its dependencies and vulnerabilities.”
“As Central and Eastern Europe's largest economy and a key regional security leader, Poland confronts significant challenges: disrupted supply chains, elevated energy costs threatening its industrial base, and targeted disinformation campaigns undermining confidence in its economic resilience,” said Marek Niedużak. “I am delighted to join EIES and spearhead its efforts in Poland during this pivotal moment. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic and influential organisation that develops pragmatic solutions at the nexus of energy, trade, and security policy—solutions that foster prosperity whilst ensuring a resilient energy supply.”
Before joining EIES, Niedużak served as CEO of Pekao Investment Banking, the corporate finance advisory arm of Pekao Group, leading the financing of flagship energy projects including Baltic Power, Poland’s most advanced offshore wind development, and Baltic Tower, the country’s first major offshore turbine tower manufacturer.
Niedużak served as Undersecretary of State within the Ministry of Economic Development, prior to which he held positions as Head of Business Regulations, Head of Regulatory Risk Assessment, and Deputy Head of Legal departments. Earlier in his career, Niedużak held posts in leading Polish law firms, including Salans D. Oleszczuk Kancelaria Prawnicza Sp.k. (now Dentons) and Sołtysiński, Kawecki & Szlęzak.
Niedużak holds a Doctorate degree and a Master of Law from Jagiellonian University. He holds a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from the University of Cambridge.
